CHICAGO’S COVID-19 RESPONSE
FROM community trust to critical action
MISSION
The City of Chicago and Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH) needed to accelerate vaccination rates at the height of the COVID-19 crisis. With a goal of 77% of Chicago residents receiving at least one dose by year’s end, the charge was to move multicultural communities toward vaccination.
ACTION
Redefined the influencer strategy, redirecting its PSA campaign into a connected approach that brought together trusted voices in safe spaces, and created open dialogue about the COVID-19 vaccine. Curated a collective of cultural, community, and medical experts to lead conversations, creating content to counter misinformation. Partnered with barbershops and nail salons, engaging priority communities, and driving awareness to action.
IMPACT
77% of Chicago residents received at least one vaccine dose, surpassing the goal ahead of schedule.
